ABB launches BlockView - a high performance diagnosis tool for drives
2009-05-14 - The Latin America Center of Excellence for Metals Systems in ABB, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, has lunched the BlockView - a high performance diagnosis tool for drives to the global market at the beginning of 2009.
The BlockView is the result of our permanent commitment on meeting customers’ needs and presents an improved assistance to maintenance and plant operation staff.
This new tool allows fastest alarm and fault diagnosis, direct access to reset instructions and fault-tracing support. It is capable of recording events and changes in the drives using time-stamping and user identification. It supports different access levels by means of users and passwords, messaging service (SMTP) for alarms and events and provides video-camera features in a simple way. It also features a graphical recorder containing up to 35 signals from different drives that could be shown simultaneously. It has an enhanced graphical interface to improve the comprehension of the control loops by accessing (reading and writing) in real time the signals and parameters over the integrated control diagrams.
The new BlockView is intended for minimizing any shut-down times of the machinery, analyzing key variables of systems with many drives associated, quick and easy visual access to different parts of the process, precise record of operator access on drives programming, fast note editing for the maintenance staff and better comprehension of control signals and parameters.
BlockView runs under the Drive Windows platform and is compatible with ABB low voltage drives family DCS600, DCS800, ACS600 and ACS800, in its standard and special firmware versions.
